Army Builder file format compression

According to ​the Army Builder developers the compression used in .ab files is a customised, commercial version of LZW (the compression used by PKZip). Based on error messages within the EXE files it appears ArmyBuilder uses Greenleaf Software's ​ArchiveLib. Since the files are not directly PKZip-compatible (as claimed in the Army Builder 2 documentation), the compression method used must be the proprietary GLCompressor.

One of our developers, darpified, ​has undertaken investigations to reverse-engineer the .ab file format compression. Details of this compression will appear here for use by other projects and individuals as and when they are discovered.
